My daughter actually bought two from the markets, one for her Marine Tank & one for my Tropical.
The ease of cleaning beats water & filter cleaning + the water stays cleaner for longer. We have had both units for 6+ months & I have only just got a little algea in the sand with tropical fish.
My daughter has to run another filter with her marine tank otherwise she seems to get more algea, but on the whole the unit is very practical & a good system.
I will also enquire if a small unit is available for a smaller tank.
